Option to move modifier in stack to top/bottom

lists.blender.org/pipermail/bf-funboard/2016-March/006508.html

With a big meshes and lots of modifiers it's really maddening having to move modifiers one place at a time, so in case it is possible I would suggest something like this:

Shift+LMB/RMB on "Move Up" or "Move Down" buttons move the modifier to Top or Bottom positions.

Or a propper drag'n'drop system, that would be awesome too.

@loic.dautry: I can see why they didn't, though. Imagine you are working with a full stack of modifers and your computer is already struggling to keep up, if you need to rearrange them, a binary up/down function would be easier to handle than trying to drag an item, have the program freeze while it tries to recalculate and end up not where you wanted it. Sort of like when using slider values. You might use the slider instead of typing in a value and when the computer finishes recalculating, it may far beyond, or quite a bit less than the value you were trying to reach.

That being said, similar to slider values (pull/push or typing), you could have both up/down/top/bottom buttons as well as a drag'n'drop system.

disagree. A proper drag'n'drop system in that case would behave like nothing is updated before mouse release. In that way : no expensive updating, and possibility to move a modifier toward any position in the list easily and fast (which the current behavior can't because you need to move modifiers step by step no matter where you want to send it and Blender needs t update every stack change)

@loic.dautry: I suppose I overlooked optimization. I always assume the "quick and dirty" approach will be taken. I still stand by having both systems in place.

Actually it's funny to notice, that such a small and usefull UX feature dev's discussed a few year ago still not implemented. With a proper drag'n'drop system there will be no need for move to top/bottom option for sure, but at current state it's going to be a usefull option.
