Accessing Attributes in a Light's Shader Nodes

Light objects can be instanced with geometry nodes, but the attributes assigned to those instances can't currently be accessed in the shader nodes

Being able to access instancer, object, and view-layer attributes would create tons of awesome possibilities with procedural lighting.

For example:

  • Colorful string Lights where point lights are instanced and the light color is controlled by an instance attribute.

  • Procedural Ceiling Lights with some area lights randomly flickering, driven by an instance attribute.

  • Random lighting effects that are driven by the position, scale, and rotation of the instances

I know there may be some workarounds using instanced meshes to alter the color and intensity of the lights, but it would be great if that could be avoided and just use the light's nodes instead.
