grooming smooth length brush

Hello !!! Is there a possible option to have a smooth length function in the curves sculpting mode ? For example when in the set length mode, with shift held down, it averages the length of the hair? Currently it's sometimes rather hard to get a smooth transition if you can only either increase or reduce the length.
