"Frame Selected" should have an icon you can press at the side of the view like Zoom, Pan, Camera View and Perspective Toggle

When I'm working without a numpad and especially if I'm working with my laptop in tablet mode with a pen device, the lack of an easy to activate "Frame Selected" function is a real pain and it feels like a function people use more than toggling between Perspective and Orthographic for example, which does have a dedicated icon.

Maybe this doesn't negate the feature request here, but just wanted to mention a nifty trick that you can ALT+MMB to reframe your view.

* @jon * I did not know that! That's actually really helpful when I'm just working on my laptop. Thanks.

While you're not wrong, there should be a framing button, I believe that space should be revised a bit in general. For instance there is no viewport roll (a feature missing from 2.7x) which would help with grease pencil illustrations and animations. That area is visually inconsistent with the alignment of the rotation gizmo and the buttons. Generally it could be stronger and include few more options (framing being one) and the possibility to customize as thinsoldier mentioned.

I made an extension to add "focus" icons in the viewport/outliner menus github.com/gordielachance/blender-focus-on-selected-gui

I cannot comprehend why anyone would downvote this. I can understand not upvoting it but there is no reason to downvote this.

I'd also like to be able to customize this area. I don't need to zoom or perspective buttons. I'd like special camera commands when the camera is right clicked.

* @thinsoldier * Yeah I was a bit surprised why I got a ton of downvotes when I first posted this. It's my first suggestion here, so maybe I wrote it poorly, but I feel like this feature is really missing. Yeah being able to customize the buttons would be great.
