Extrude Improvements

We have the extrude bound to the E key, which is wonderful. But sometimes we want other types of extrude, such as individual or Manifold or Along Normals.

Sure we do have the Alt+E menu for that but it's really weird to waste some braincells thinking if you should just press E or Alt+E Depending on the situation and using menus is not generally the fastest approach.

We already have a solution in other tools: For example: pressing G to move an object then X to choose X-axis or even just typing numbers after that lets me define the accurate distance in meter, this way I can just type GX2 and I have the object moved already 2 meters in X axis, It's fast, fluid and elegant.

Perhaps we could just press E than M for extrude manifold, or EI for extrude individual or EN for Along Normals, even EM3 to extrude 3 meters in manifold mode, just to name a few. In short,we could copy the same system we have for move(G) rotate(R) and Scale(S) onto extrude.

In short: you want to merge all the extrusion types into one big modal operator that does it all, allowing to:

  • change extrusion types on the fly
  • change afterwards via the Adjust Last Operation panel
  • still be able to have hotkeys for specific extrusion types (as you can make as many hotkeys you want for a modal operator with different default behaviors).

Sounds good actually 🤔
