Blur Attribute / Smooth Geometry Neighbor Selection

It is hard to smooth jagged edges procedurally, since the Blur Attribute Node and Smooth Geometry Node don't allow the user to define which elements are neighbors.

The weight socket and selection socket don't allow this:

The request is to give the user a way to choose the neighboring elements themselves to smooth the edges like in the following image while keeping the rest of the geometry the same.

There are definitely ways to do this with node groups (I've got a few that do exactly this sort of thing), but it would be nice to have more control over the blur node. E.g. weights determining how much a vertex influences its neighbors, propagating over faces rather than edges, limiting it to only increase or decrease values on each iteration, etc.

All of these are possible with node groups, but could potentially be more performant if built-in.

It's doable with groups but you'd have to do a weird workaround, like sampling the edge after it was blurred, which often doesn't even work with many blur iterations.

It would just could be so easy and performant to have an option to choose the neighbors yourself.

The trick is to not use the blur node in the first place, and rely on Evaluate On Domain nodes, fancy math, and repeat zones instead. I don't think RCS allows images in comments, or I'd include an example.
