Changing exported image format using a written file extension (.jpg, .png, .bmp...)
Currently when saving images from Blender, such as a rendered image, a File Format needs to be selected on the right of the Blender File View. It would be much more convenient if instead of changing the "File Format", one could simply type "image.png" or "image.jpg" and Blender would export the image depending on the extension when naming the image as is the case in software like Gimp instead of forcing whatever is selected in the "File Format" by default.
This would ofc be in addition to the existing File Format options.

So what settings for alpha, bit depth, compression are going to be used if you just type .tif?
A nice to have option. If I remember correctly Photoshop works that way.
