Add handle widget [features request]

In Topmod viz.tamu.edu/faculty/ergun/research/topology/ there are very functional tools for topological modeling.

One of them is Add handle . You select one vertex followed by the other one and then handle is being made which maps one vertex to the other. You can change the amount of segments and weight which means how big the loop/handle will be. Now I know you can make this in Blender with bridge faces but it's very hard to bridge 2 faces which are not facing one another.

So I propose a widget operation for 2.8 similar in Topmod for creating handles.

Selecting one vertex of the face, selecting other vertex on other face and then operator creates handle/bridge.

if you need a workaround for now, you can duplicate the face, split it to a new object, convert to curve, and use it as a bevel object for a curve, in this way you can do something similar and control how the handle is shaped

Does the Bridge Edge Loops Tool help?

@luisburdallo:

The problem lies when faces you want to bridge are not facing each other (bigger then 90deg angle). For example, for these two faces you can't bridge them without intersecting the object itself:

Of course, if faces are postioned toward each other (less or equal 90deg angle), bridge works fine: facing each other

Second problem is if you have this example: * neighborhood faces *. In Blender you can't bridge them while in Topmod, you can.

@cyseal1: You are right about that so it would just be a matter of adding a couple of extra options to the current tool I guess.
