The Preview Node
This is a node that can be connected to each and every node in the shader editor, to help you. It is similar to having a printf statement sprinkled everywhere in your code (in C).
I will edit and add a good description soon (I'm sleepy right now) .. in the meanwhile the image should be enough to explain the proposal.

Is there something like this to view altered bitmaps as well? Like when mixing two image textures, I'd love to be able to see the result before it goes into a shader.
* @Lester * yes .. that is what I have in mind as well ... the purpose of this node is to display what is coming from the previous node.
* @SomeAB * Okay cool. That's what I got from reading your post but then seeing the dropdown for Hex,HSV,RGBA, I thought you might have meant solid colors only.
* @Lester * If you enable the Node Wrangler add-on and Ctrl+Shift click on any node, it shows the result live on the 3D viewport already. Is that what you mean?
* @Faruk Ahmet * Node wrangler is awesome, but what we're wanting it to view the map in 2D at any point in the node flow before it's sent to the viewport and projected onto a mesh.
I hope there will be a Node Quest someday as soon as we have Nodes everywhere.
Also be cool to have it be view-able in image editor like the viewer node in compositing.
could be cool to connect shaders to this node too
* @DB3D * yes, that is what I meant as well .. when I said every 'type' of nodes :)
