Add an alternate quick snap.

When modeling, I often use the snap function (ctrl). I switch the two modes (closest and active) very often, I suggest simplifying this and adding an additional hot key option. The default is Ctrl (nearest), and Ctrl Shift can be active (or another convenient way). You can add an item of choice to the settings.
