Speaker Info node for Geometry nodes
Hello, dear Blender developers. Currently, Blender has an object type called speaker for creating sound in 3d space, and even supports the "Sound" socket type in the Geometry nodes editor for using the Sample Sound Frequencies node. And I thought, why not make sure that the Sound socket is not only in the Sample Sound Frequencies node and in the switching nodes, but that the audio file data is extracted from the speaker using the Speaker Info node, which outputs all the configurable parameters of this type of object.
And the most interesting thing is, this node outputs a value called the sound field, which is created from all speaker parameters and which is used to create a simulation of sound and its effect on geometry and other objects, for example, a simulation of repulsion from sound, creating ripples, for example, video or a simulation of glass breaking or exploding other objects from sound, etc.
That's why I I would like to suggest that you add such a node to the Geometry nodes editor. If, in addition to Geometry nodes, this node is useful for the Shader Editor and the Compositor editor, then write in the comments why. Thank you for reading my idea, voting it up, and even liking it if you liked it. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, write them in your comments.
