Panoramic Support For Workbench Renderer and Viewport

Working with panoramic cameras has always been annoying. When youre in the camera you cannot reliably select objects.

With the addition of panoramic cameras being added to EEVEE, I think it would be beneficial to add panoramic support to the Workbench render engine/viewport overlays and add support for panoramic selection in the viewport

I think this is technically a duplicate post but the last one was 3 years ago and with EEVEE adding panoramic support I thought it was topical and more likely to be considered now

First of all I agree that this would be ideal, but ... the main challenge of this is that when every render engine supports panoramic viewport, there would be no way anymore to get the right feedback when performing an operation, viewing through the panoramic camera.

In order to solve this most operations needs to be adjusted. Especially texture paint and sculpting operations might require a totally different approach, just to support sculpting/texturing from a panoramic viewport.

Just a lot of effort, for not that much of benefit and therefore low on our priority list.

That makes sense, I was only considering basic viewport interactions when I wrote this and figured 'Oh they can probably just project the mouse into the panoramic coordinates or something' but I guess its never that simple haha. Thanks for the reply
