C++/proper implementation of offset edges?
(dont get me wrong, I do like mesh tools but its kinda slow as its Python and the interface is not as intuitive as Blenders native tools)

One thing that totally sucks about mesh tools is the offset tool exclusively uses meters, so us imperial designers have to pre-convert measurements before typing them in to offset edges. Personally, I'd really like a 2d offset modifier to keep things non-destructive, but an edit mode offset tool would be cool too. I cannot stress enough how essential an offset tool is for precision design. In my unique personal experience, Blender is inferior to certain programs like SketchUp at precision design because it lacks a few important tools and requires more clicks per action, but I'd like to see that change for the better. The asset editor is already a good step in the right direction.
* @qwertquart * Its no secret that Blender is far inferior to most popular 3D suites out there when it comes to modelling in general
I would love to have the Curve/Edge Offset as a node in Geometry Nodes (the way it works in Illustrator with text). But this seems to be not in the near plans of Blender 😔😢
