Would be cool if we're able to add segments ala CTRL+B or CTRL+R while extruding or insetting!

Blender users should understand the references you're making, but there are a few who don't use default shorcuts (some, strangely enough, don't use shortcuts at all). To that end, I'd suggest that you include the actual operator names (e.g. Bevel and Loop Cut) in your proposal.
A mock-up of the segment-adding feature in action would be nice, too. ;)
