The proposed icon is dense and convoluted, and will not work at the proper scale in the node editor. On lower-res monitors it will become a jumble of pixels and it simply does not read well from a distance.
Thanks for your effort in proposing this! Unfortunately I do not think it will work. The new icon will most likely be handled at the foundation by the in-house UI designer.
Don't let this experience deter you though: by all means please propose new ideas when you feel up to it!
