Brush engines just like krita?

Not sure if this is the place for this post to be but I was wondering if it's feasible to have brush engines just like Krita? Blenders texture painting brushes serve their purpose well, but it seems like it can be so much more. Considering Krita is open source I'm wondering if things could be ported/integrated. And their brush engines are very powerful.

When you have the expressiveness those brush engines provide Blender would even be more amazing. Minus the layers obviously but that's a different topic.

I don't know if they could just put krita in blender. Someone developing an addon for using external brush engines would be more realistic. (and pretty cool). Though for both of which I'm not sure whether or not it's possible. Also mypaint or krita are too different, something made from scratch for blender would be better as they wouldn't have to depend on an external project. Maybe that's going to happen in the future but the focus is clearly on getting the new 2.8 stuff ready for release.

@paperbenni: I mean I'm not expecting a 1:1 copy paste, but the code for each engine is there. Perhaps bf can utilize it as a reference for their own brush engines.
