Store individual "View," position for each material node & compositor window
I'm excited for more node systems for to be added to Blender, but there's an issue that exists now that I think will only get worse once more nodes are added.
The issue is that when you move around a node tree, whether it's the compositor, material editor, etc., the viewport position is moved across all other editors. This means that if I'm editing a complex shading node tree, then bounce over to another material to tweak something and come back, I have to find my place again, often with all the nodes I was working on suddenly off screen.
It would be really helpful if each material and node view stored it's own position and zoom level, that way when bouncing back and forth like one often needs to do, things would be more consistent.
EDIT: To clarify, if you have multiple node editors open at a time, each editor will work independently. This is only when you have one editor open at a time IE: having 1 shader editor open, switching to another material, moving around, and then going back to the original material.

Position changing for 1 editor and not saving for each node tree. But it saving for each editor. Looks like a task for addon.
ATM you can make empty reroutes, name em and search. Yup. Some vanilla magic {attachment 2020-04-24_01-49-48mp4}
This is definitely a bug.
* @Ge Ro * If it's a bug it's been there for as long as I can remember
* @Ge Ro * Yeah I don't believe it's a bug. It probably just syncs them to save RAM or nobody just thought about it when coding it.
* @Zach Hixson * Yes, your edit clarified the issue and seems just faulty design. A papercut :)
