Appending Vs. Linking RE: Grease Pencil
Greetings and Salutations Wizards of The Blender Development World! I have but a humble request which may be merely a question of my ignorance.
I am trying to create a grease pencil character puppet in one scene with all of its eye, mouth and hand shapes on Gp objects with frames. And then link that puppet into my set (in a different scene,) and be able to do the actual animation there. But still be linked to the original so that any major changes or new drawings can be added and filter down to the different shots. Currently when you link a gp object and deselect instancing you still don't have access to the GP layers or frames. and appending no longer has the link to the original. Perhaps you have a workaround? If not maybe a new attribute added to the link function for GP layers to import the frames? In the future I expect there will be some sort of Library or GP Character setup to save out Frames as symbols for different hand shapes etc. And my method will be made irrelevant. Regardless at the moment I am curious if it is even possible. Any thoughts? Thx for the amazing work. It makes my life better in a measurable way. :)
