Features for the 3d Manipulators to work in an intuitive way.

In 2.7 there were some settings for the 3d Manipulators where we could change their sizes to be larger but their handles remain small for the scale and the translate tools but in 2.8 the resizing makes the handles too big. Here is a video for what i mean. image

I would like if this functionality to be brought back but with some usability improvements.

  1. Addding two operators that do the proper resizing in the viewport without us having to adjust the handles size manually and the center circle( for freeform) should also remain the same size too or have a seperate option for it.

  1. There is the issue of the sensitivity when getting close to the center that's why i like to use bigger Manipulators to avoid it, a proper solution is to have an option to lock/making it constant.

  2. Three is related to two, now the Manipulators have a second bigger circle for scale particularly to avoid this issue but it's a bad design choice imo, if they're locked then this circle should go away or a better general solution could be found like removing the sensitivity for the manipulators and keeping it only for the transform modals (G.R.S).

I kind of solve your 1) suggestion with my Gizmo Size script:

Check Gizmo Size on my GitHub
Participate on the Blender Artist thread

* @-L0Lock- * Thanks, see that's already feeling much better. I assume you don't have control over the other parts through the API?!.

* @adamsanim8 * I think it could be possible. The gizmo size is a global parameter: it's the same everywhere and if you change it from the viewport then it is changed everywhere too.
I just need to find a way to make my operators work outside the viewport.

And... Actually did it. To some extent at least. See there: blenderartists.org/t/gizmo-size-resize-your-gizmo-with-ease/1226756/2

If you want to talk further on this add-on, I propose we do it on the above BlenderArtists thread, so we don't mix up things here.

Fully agreed on all points although I would prioritize 2 above 1.

Variable sensitivity makes sense for the transform modals but it's terrible when using the gizmos themselves. Sensitivity should be fixed in place when using the gizmos.

We should be able to adjust the size/length of the gizmos separately from the size of the handles at the end of each axis.
