alpha adjustment preview window
a panel for alpha and color tuning and to enable region overlay to make it easy to customize the 3dview menu, making those adjustments by theme options is very complicated and not intuitive you never find where the settings you need are

I don't personally like this idea at all. This is a theming option. I don't want to have this setting vislble in the middle of me doing actual work.
It probably will be set to Alpha 0 by default anyway and if you really need to change it, thats exactly what the theming menu is for. There is really no point in this.
try to look for what you want by the windows of themes is very bad is not intuitive, you do not find what you are looking for, hours to find something is easier to find a needle in a haystack, you have to have something intuitive easy access
@zimafigoxa: Then the better option would be to get a better structured theme menu rather that random theming options scattered accros the interface. I think they have plans for this in 2.8
