Shadow Catcher COLOR control and more Options
Would be truly helpful for VFX - Artists if we could have more control over the Shadow Catcher
- 🎨COLORS
At the moment with EEVEE you can kinda change the color of the shadows in the Shadow Catcher with some Material tweaks, but it is not really accurate.
With Cycles you need even more tweaking in the Compositor to get a close result.
Normally while filming a shot,
shadows tend to have a 🔵 blueish tint because of the Sky ,
sometimes a 🔴Redish tint while filming a Sunset
..
- 💎Transparency
Additionally, depending of the camera, day hour, shadows have different intensities of how transparent they look.. to be able to control the transparency would also help any VFX project.
..
- ✨ Reflections
Not only shadows, the Shadow Catcher should be useful for Objects above a wet / shiny surface... This would also help to place light emissive objects in the shot environment and this one could catch the light.
-🌈 Caustics
If placing a Glass Object in the shot environment, the Shadow Catcher also being able to catch caustics, would rise up Blender as a VFX tool for realistic projects.
..
All these options in a small practical
''Shadow Catcher side menu''
would be life saving.
