Larger previews for the image dropdown list

The image previews in the dropdown that shows up when you wanna change image for something in Blender are rather small and you cant really tell what the image actually is.

Would be better if they were larger, and if possible personally I think it would be quite nice if there was an option to have them displayed on a sphere like materials are showcased in most software (as an option).

Would 100% make it easier to find suiting textures in blend files where you've imported many images.

* @Pawel Piotrowski * Ah yes, glad to see that they really are working on that.

From Pawel's second link: imgur.com/a/x3EN0qn . Seems like a material asset system is on its way. Which sounds fantastic, tho I really hope the image dropdown list wont be forgotten <3

They're not just a little behind schedule

And in that go they could also do something about the filenames being truncated to a point where they look the same sometimes. That dropdown could be larger overall.

Larger Preview means more of your hardware will render the previews... but it could be optional. some times it's really need to see the preview.

* @aslan.tamjidi * It could be streamed and cashed. Performance shouldnt be an issue for any professional programmer.

Btw, if anyone happen to know of any addon that allows for anything like this, please share it <3

Maybe it could be: enlarged thumb when you hover the name in the list for 1000ms
