Select loops in uv editor with double click [more than one]
Double-clicking on the loop in the uv editor at the moment only works on first loop, holding shift has no effect, I think this is a bug

this could be a bug, you should be able to do that. for me that is working fine. it could be related to an addon you have installed as well as i have used UV addons that have changed the functionality of the way the uv editor works.
but if you cant do that then id say it is definitely a bug, you could simply try a reinstall as that wont affect your settings.
