View through Lights
I am a solid Blender user that switched from Lightwave 3d about 2.5 years ago. In Lightwave there is a very handy feature that has been with it since I have used it back to the Amiga days. It has a simple selection method to view through any light, same as the camera. It was especially helpful with spotlights to be able to know with close accuracy, where the falloff occurs. You can also scrub through the animation looking through a light to make sure your lights are just where you want them throughout the animation. I think it is a standout feature that I feel Blender should have. In this video he shows it at about 4:10 youtube.com/watch

Select a spotlight and press
Ctrl+0like you would on a Camera.Yes, thank you, it does get it to the view through light, I haven't figured out how to easily "pitch and bank" whilst in light view, probably a key I have to hold down, or change a selection somewhere first. Are there any lightwave users out there that know what I mean?, with the simple elegant solution that is used in lightwave?
View - Local camera - select your light in a field. Now for this viewport your local camera is your light
