Enhance Video Export Presets for Social Media and Online Video Sharing Platforms
I'm a frequent Blender 3D user, and I'd like to suggest adding export presets to the video editing export inspector for platforms like YouTube, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok. Currently, Blender's default video export settings lack optimizations such as e.g. 'Fast Start' for YouTube and so on. As a result, videos exported from Blender aren't fully optimized for social media and online video-sharing platforms. This limitation has led me to switch to another video editor for my projects. Adding these presets would greatly improve the usability and efficiency of Blender for content creators targeting these platforms. Many existing and new users might choose Blender solely for video editing if it offered better export options.
Thank you for considering my feedback.

Making presets is quite simple. Do you have a list of the recommended settings for each platform and the equivalent in FFmpeg?
No, I don’t have a list of recommended settings for each platform. However, I exported a video in Blender and checked the resulting .mp4 file using the following commands:
To verify the bitrate, video dimensions, and other technical details, I used the following command:
ffmpeg -i youtube_best_1080p.mp4
To check if the video is optimized for YouTube (Fast Start), I ran this command:
ffmpeg -i youtube_best_1080p.mp4 -v trace 2>&1 | findstr moov
I discovered that the moov atom wasn’t located at the beginning of the file. To fix this issue and enable Fast Start, I used this command. However, I’m not sure if it would be sufficient for an optimized video:
ffmpeg -i youtube_best_1080p.mp4 -c copy -movflags +faststart fixed.mp4
The AI suggested that the Buffer Size of max. 2000 might not be enough, though I’m not sure how critical this is. Buffer Size can be adjusted in Blender here:
Output > Encoding > Video > Output Quality: Set to 'Constant Bitrate', and adjust the 'Buffer' value
At the moment, this is all the information I’ve gathered. If anyone has recommendations for optimizing export settings across different platforms, I’d love to hear them!
