Export Modifier for objects

The ability to assign an Export Modifier onto an object, with options to clear transformations, rotate the pivot for different game engines (ie. 90 degrees on X for Unity), etc. Every time the model is modified in any way, a new version of the FBX/OBJ/etc. would immediately be created, essentially creating a live link with external software.

Funny thing, what you describe is pretty much what i had in mind as well and started developing the "FBX bundle" addon.

A concern I have with this is that most of the export tools in Blender are Python based and the export process for large files can be pretty slow. With exports done on the fly in the modifier stack with every change, I can see quite a painful performance hit happening that would make working on a model pretty frustrating.

@Jason van Gumster: Agreed. I think a better idea would be to have any number of "export profiles" that were tied to the scenes themselves, that way you could quickly just press a button and know that all of your files were exported the way you wanted them to be based on your initial setup of the "profile".

Having any kind of 'automatic' export without the user explicitly asking for an export is flirting with disaster in my opinion, especially considering some new users who might stumble across the modifier thinking it was the preferred way to export files and not understand why their hard disk is clicking like a geiger counter all of the sudden.
