use 'H' key to hide / deactivate a modifier
As modifiers have a number of general Blender shortcuts now, like Control + A for Apply and Shift + D for copy, I think it'd be really convenient to add the H key shortcut to quickly hide / deactivate a modifier.
Following the general Blender scheme, Alt + H would then unhide / reactivate a modifier.

I like this idea. Two questions :
With objects, it is necessary to have two shortcuts because we can't select hidden objects -so we effectively need a unique shortcut to restore visibility of hidden objects. Modifier shortcuts work on hover, even on disabled modifiers. So we'd just need H to hide, and H again to show. Does that make sense ? Alt+H could then be used to restore visibility of all hidden modifiers, just like it does with objects ?
Would it affect render visibility ? I guess no if we want to keep the behaviour consistent with objects
