snap to floor (with end key) like UE4 + snap to center
im new and getting things to centre and on the floor plane is important, it would be great if there was a simple SHIFT + (key) shortcut to do it instantly so we could get on our way with the creative stuff.
id make it a shift Shift + function because then u could also have snap to grid function too with more buttons
lets say im in object mode, shift + end gets my low poly models feet land perfectly on the floor. but then maybe theyr not flat so in edit mode i select some vertices on the bottom hit shift end and bam theyre flat. (you could use this to make pillars of any shaped objecct to by snapping verts to the floor from your designated height requirement. but say im wanting to do the feet thing with other models (the movement arrow keys seem largely unused to my knowledge) maybe i just press shift + rightarrow to offset my model from the centre on the x plane. click my other model snap to floor and centre, edit mode snap verts to floor, bam im on a roll, then move that one to the left and do the next one.
this would also be great for getting feet to the floor in timeline mode, ai generated models and animations are decent but if the feet arnt on the floor there is a lot of fixing up to do and animation is slow, this would take hundreds of hours off of peoples time in theory if they could fix up their ai gen animations this way.
side proposal:
A measure tool would be great along side this so i know the exact scale of my model or the pillar im creating for when exporting to other software, allegedly having the wrong scale can break a lot of things, parented objects, weights, even animations if u have to scale them in another program like ue after uve done them. setting the model up from the get go the right size would save a lot of pain so a measurement scale would help a lot. another super helpful thing would be an auto scaler. you just type in your height in m or cm and it auto scales your model to the right height, shift end snap to floor then center, holy crap u just saved 10 to 15 minutes and hours if ur new trying to understand the conversions

There's more than one addon out that that can put something on the floor. As far as "maybe theyr not flat so in edit mode i select some vertices on the bottom hit shift end and bam theyre flat" - select the points, scale Z = 0 (S Z 0), done.
thankyou. it is good to know that it is possible. being so useful in theory i feel it deserves to be a native function in blender to speed up workflow, reasoning is because addons take time to search, find, setup, and they are not always intuitive to look for to a new user, since unreal now has it and shows already how useful it is there is good reason to make it a standard tool for modeling software
btw in the meantime, what is the addon that you are using for it?
Look for QOL tools on BlenderMarket.
There is a free addon called "Drop it" which does exactly what you want.
