Real "Only Rim" on Solidify Modifier.

It'd be nice to have the ability to produce a pure rim without an offset face. This would make a very nice tool for generative modeling.

UPDATE: Now possible!

You can hide initial face with material if you need rim, but yes, it will be easier to make walls just with two solidifiers: rim+solidify.

* @ Vyacheslav * It's not only a visibility issue. It's a procedural modeling one. What I'm asking would allow some fancy nesed modelimg which would be very cool and handy.

They finally added this feature! So good.

I've been heard. It's now a real thing in Blender.

Vyach

* @levitosio * almost. It requires at least 1 aditional vertex on the ngon, and then you can use mask to cut off rim via vertex group.

weasel

* @ Vyacheslav * nope, just use complex solidify. Only Rim there is exactly this.

Vyach

* @weasel * oh, thanks, didn`t notice this difference!

Bump. Is it planned?
