Improvement to curve uv transformations
Let's say we have curve, with some bevel profile object assigned to it - I name it ribbon curve.
Currently 'Texture Space' sliders in curve properties doesn't seem to do anything to curve ribbon uv's. I wish user would be able to change curve UV's by changing translation, rotation, scale. Also it would be great if modifications to curve UV's could be applied per polyline (so if curve is made of multiple polylines, all of them could have slightly different uv offset, rotation, scale).
Example UI - with ability to change rotation if uv's, and per strand uv transformation:
Visual example of how altering each polyline UV, by applying custom UV transformation, can create different color on each strip (we get more randomized texture look):
With curve uv transformation user could preview, let's say hair texture, directly on curve geometry, without need to convert curve ribbons to mesh, and manually unwrapping those. Example hair texture:
Blend file with material UV Mapping workaround . Not perfect, it doesn't change actual curve UV's, not ability to randomize uv offset per strand, but better than nothing.

I really like the idea of having UV transformation exist in a "per-spline" option, this add easy customization for animated lightning bolt curves with a lot of branches, to individually control the timing of each branch.
Actually had to deal with lack of UVs in curves on multiple complicated occasions other than hair. Not geneating UVs from something inherently UV friendly is a missed opportunity, especially given how much work it adds.
You can use node editor for that and I like to have uv editor for curves too because it's pain with texture mapping node. If we get a basic scale and rotation in uv editor would be great
And just example of how right now user has to manually unwrap curve ribbons, after converting them to mesh, which is very destructive workflow (can't do tweaking anymore in curve mode - unless using addon ):
@bartosz.styperek: What do you mean with 'have to unwrap manually after converting'? Once you convert to mesh, the ribbon keeps the same UVs it had when you were editing it on curve mode.
PS: nice hair!
