Snap to vertices/edges while in Edge and Vertex Slide mode
So I’m trying to move from Max to Blender 2.8 after using Max professionally for almost 15 years now. And let me tell you, there's a really serious shortcoming to Blender that will prohibit thousands of Max users from switching. This shortcoming is a very serious deal breaker for a lot of Max users such as me working in the arch-vis field. What am I talking about? The ability to snap edges/vertices to another vertex/edge while sliding them with Edge Slide or Slide Vertices. With vertex or edge snap activated, Blender only seems to snap the edge loop in increments of 1/10 of the distance between the two opposite loops instead of snapping to vertices and edges.
For example, I’ve got a DXF drawing in my Front viewport which I use as a blueprint for modeling the building. I created a loop and now I want to slide and snap it to the vertices of the doors and windows on the drawing without disturbing the topology of the 3d model. How do I do that? In Max it’s really easy. I just select the edge loop, activate Edge Constraint and then move snap to vertices on the imported line drawing. This doesn't seem to be possible in Blender and it pushes away many professionals trying to migrate from Max to Blender. I've been searching the web for 2 days now and I've not found a way to make this work. If this is implemented, it would be compel a lot of Max users to switch in a heartbeat.

snapping improvements are currently being worked on, huge thread over on devtalk about it.
* @testure * Oh, wow. I'm so excited about snapping improvements. I'll definitely check it out. Thanks!
THIS IS SOLVED! Btw, you say there are shortcomings when switching from max, but believe me, there are a lot of benefits, too. I used 3ds and 3ds Max for 25 years before switching. Blender is a much faster modeller.
