Extend selection by prefix/suffix to every mode

Select by prefix/suffix in shift-G menu is only available in armature edit mode . I think it is as useful in other modes and always wanted to use it in object mode and armature pose mode . When you name well your objects it's a time saver.

Currently I use the select pattern (by typing stuff like " prefix_* " in the search field) as a workaround but it's way longer.

So the proposal is just adding it to shift-G menu of other modes.

Speaking of this being easy to do with python, I've made an add-on for selecting objects with the same prefix or suffix on my GitHub . This uses the underscore as the character that splits the prefix and suffix. These will show up in the select menu as Select by Prefix and Select by Suffix, but right now I can't figure out how to get them in the Shift+G menu. They only work in object mode right now. Let me know if you need one for armature pose mode. I don't use that mode much so I may need help testing it.

@dpdpforlife: I agree, this is ultra-easy in python, but should be default for everyone to enjoy. I've started to make a "guess select addon" to rule them all a long time ago ^^ here is the wip . But never finished it... The idea was to spam a button to get new selection guesses rapidly by using predefined cycling rules (prefix by underscore being one of them). I think I'll redo it completely with a different approach...

This would be easy to do in python, but I agree it should be built in to blender.
