Support for more AMD Laptop GPUs

I just bought a laptop with dedicated graphics, didn't know much about these then. Now, it does not even work with blender because it does not support it.

AMD FirePro W5170M.

I absolutely need this one to work as I cannot buy a new one for now. I just even got into learning the 3D Graphics field.

Blender does support AMD GPU. blender.org/download/requirements/

However, it's a bit different for GPU rendering with Cycles : docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/render/cycles/gpu_rendering.html

Especially if you are on Mac OS. Which Blender is working on, and is due to Apple's will to be the odd one out.

But the bottom line is, never buy hardware without knowing if it can do what you need. It's not like when you buy a car "as long as it can roll, it works". And you can't expect the devs to then make it up for you.

From the looks of it, your GPU alone should not prevent you from using Blender (though we do not know your full setup, you might have other hardware parts that are incompatible). You might have issues doing GPU rendering with Cycles (but you still can use your CPU, or another render engine).
In addition to have the right hardware, you should also make sure your drivers are up to date, especially your GPU drivers.

Never buy tech with an AMD graphics card for 3D. Personally, I think that adding support for such rare graphics card representatives takes time away from developers who could have gone for something more useful. Otherwise, I recommend you to return/sell your laptop and buy something based on Nvidia
