Grease Pencil needs Surface Deform with a Mesh

Grease Pencil needs to work with Surface Deform modifier

When you draw a GP onto surface of a mesh you can parent the GP to the mesh and it will transform basic (scale, rotate, transform) but it won't distort and deform with the mesh if the mesh is deformed with Armatures or shapekeys.

Practical use- If we draw eyeliner with GP on a mesh face, and that face has Shapekeys to blink- we would want the GP to deform perfectly with the mesh to remain on its surface and deform as the eye closes.

<below> you can see other mesh objects (brow and lips) deform with the Cube because they respond with the SurfaceDeform modifier.

surfaceDeform.jpg With 4.3 Geometry nodes I think you can make a GP into a curve, then curve to mesh... would THAT be the avenue to then deform the GP mesh to the parent mesh shapekeys? (but with my limited knowledge of GeomNodes I can't get the SurfaceDeform Modifier to work on a completed GeomNode in the stack)

note: I experimented with hooks, bendy bones. lattices etc and we need a simpler, more precise deform for greasePencil.

Thank you for considering!

Someone actually has worked on making a Surface Deform mod for grease pencil. Unfortunately it never got far enough to be merged into main for whatever reason. Maybe one day...
