Bake/Pre-Render VSE Meta Strips
I'm a bit of a novice to VSE, but I have found a rather unfortunate shortcoming. When I make a stack of strips with heavy effects. I convert it to a meta strip so it's nicely contained, but once that strip is locked down, there doesn't seem to be a way (or no way I'm aware of) to bake that so it doesn't need to be fully rendered every time it's scrubbed over or I perform a final render on the project, without splitting it off to a different .blend file, which seems to be an unnecessary hurdle.
I'm aware that caching exists, but the pool is limited and shared, and was useless in my case (1920x1080 ~1000 frames) without a massive cache limit and probably a dedicated SSD (I may be wrong here, but I've found no workarounds yet).
So I propose being able to bake a Meta Strip to disk as an uncompressed video, in a way that isn't shared, and is expressly triggered by the user. A handy feature would be an "out-of-date" warning if something has changed inside the meta.
I know something like this is perfectly possible as I've written a script that does everything but warn of internal changes.
But I feel an integrated solution would be better, like adding a field on the Meta Strip to point to a bake, without needing another strip as my solution requires.
