per obejct draw types? [Hold my beer]

in 2.79 i often change the maximum draw type or changing the display type per object. This is especially useful when working with boolean modifiers since we are not able to see what is going on with the modifier when we do not change the draw type of the boolean object.

i was trying to do this in 2.8 but the draw type options did not do anything and i could not figure out how to change for example wire frame display per object.

so anyone knows how to do this in 2.8? is it not yet implemented?
