Background image that is visible in camera viewport at wireframe mode

i've checked at blender stack exchange and i found out that we cannot have image reference in camera during wire frame mode it simply disappear and it only visible during soiled or any other than wire frame , i would like to suggest that option to have the image background to be also visible in wire frame as well. if possible.
