Display Face orientation overlay in UV viewport
It would be great to have the Face orientation overlay in the UV editor.
Like this we could see instantly if one of our islands is flipped.

I'm not against this buuuutttt. I'm not sure if uv's have any knowledge of what is up and down. If you scale any uv -1 on the x axis it's not like the face flips. Just the texture coordinates.
Say if you have a flat plane in the 3d view. And you edit it in the uv editor. Should it be showing red or blue? Cause that plane is facing both ways when you really think about it.
Good point, I am not sure the way Blender could internally handle this practically. In my mind, it is not the face normal which would be taken in account but the face corner UV coordinates order. ie: if you have ((1,0), (0,0), (0,1),(1,1)), you can see your face is going with inverse direction in UV domain. And for a simple plane, it is the face up which is the one UV’ed, as the backface isn’t really here, it is just a way Blender shows it in 3D viewport (or not, according to your preferences).
I hope this clarify what I had in mind :)
A flat plane does have a facing direction. It's related to the winding order of the vertices, which determines the direction its normal faces. After all, how do you think the Face Orientation viewport overlay handles planes?
