Frame number input on Image Sequence node

The possibilities this would offer would be very numerous (and I happen to really need that right now). A "Time info" or "Frame" node would also be great, although we could get away without it using a keyframed "Value" node.

Some examples of what this would allow you to do :

  • change the speed of an image sequence or change the image randomly
  • have a different image texture on each particle by connecting a particle index output (there are other ways but this is a very controlled behavior)
  • use this input in the Animation Nodes addon to offset the image sequence on object instances

In fact there are many other applications, some of which I may not have thought yet.

Definitely a good one. And also my vote for those lovely sparks! :)

What a great addition that would have been. Sigh.

i really don't understand how this is still not in blender... it's a great idea and quite a basic concept for many other applications

to me it's point well the actual problem with blender, a lot a shiny update for new features but missing a lot of really basic function to make it a great software

* @William Eguienta * Right? ... Right??? I'm kidding you're probably biased by your own experience just as we all are. But yeah we totally need this.
