Changeable Alpha Checker Color
This is a must have in my opinion. It is the ability to change the checker color of the alpha from darkgray-lightgray to anything else. Just as you can in photoshop for example. It can help allot when determining if a rendering with alpha worked correctly or if there where any black spots that should been transparent.
For an Example here it is how it is now and how you know it from many tools as the standard:
And here is how I set it up in photoshop, which I am actually using for years that way:
While editing I want also to include that while using this the Pink color Scheme in Photoshop I never encountered any of the problems I have using the gray one in blender. But I know that the pink version can be a bit nauseating. So if you could switch between different schemes on the fly this would be way more helpful than only making it themeable.

you can put a picture here. If you want it to be used in both the bottom of your post and the thumbnail of your proposal, edit the proposal and find the "Browse" button on the left to upload an image from your computer. If you want to add in-line images, you can upload them on a host website like imgur and use the markdown code
While I can see the potential convenience of being able to change the alpha pattern, there are so many crazy possible options there. Why not just use your own image or color input and put that in there? Then it can be whatever you want.
@Craig Jones: OK... so this is specifically for images in the UV/Image Editor, but not tied to anything in the compositor. I understand now.
@Jason van Gumster: Yep exactly that, now I know there are other solutions to that, like saving and loading it into photoshop or using some crazy other stuff but that always consumes time. And when working professionally you often don't get that time and making a mess is always unpleasent because you need to be on top of things. And especially for baking it doesn't show up that easily so you could make one line for baking.
