Class A surfacing
Hi Blender team
First of all please excuse my English is not that good. For many years I used Solidworks software for industrial design, now after a few years using Blender (and I’m thankful and impressed with a lot of features in blender) I’m really missing some of my previous workflow for surfaces and hard-surface modeling. So, I think it would be a great idea if Blender invest in integrating CAD-Nurb/parametric workflow or some new kind of hybrid between Alias and blender. It would be great to be capable to make G3 curvatures in blender and have more control in lofts and bevels, to see advanced settings in bridge edges and grid fills.
I think Class A curves are almost a standard in good quality Industrial Design, that’s the main reason why I´m writing all this. It would be nice to know whether blender is planning to go in that direction or not, it makes sense. Thanks in advance

Blender has NURBS and Bezier. AFIAK devs aren't much interested in developing it further, because Blender is targeted at artists, and most of them prefer subdivision surfaces instead. But higher order bevels is a thing tho and it is already implemented: check out Bevel modifier->Profile->Superellipse->Shape.
and so on. The exact shape value you need is
4^(-1/r), whereris superellipsoid parameter in|x|^r + |y|^r = 1There have been recent discussions to add more "modes" and object types to blender eventually. It will be several years of waiting before they even start doing it. I think once they get that stuff started some addon creators will be more easily able to add things like this to blender. They will probably not be free addons.
There are much more items in the whishlist then there are Blender developers. Luckily you are free to make your own addons, to suggest your own code as a patch or even to make a fork. If you need this functionality earlier then in several years, you can make it yourself (or hire another professional) and distribute it for free ;-P
