Show Polycount for selected object/s

Quite simple. Show the polycount for the selected object/s in view overlays/statistics.

At the moment blender shows the total vertex/edge/face/triangle counts. The only way it seems to get the triangle count for the selected object/s is to hide all the other objects in the scene.

We have already a nice overlay capable of showing total and selected cound for everything, EXCEPT the Triangles which only shows the total for some reason.

I would like to see the polycount of the selected object/s without going into any mode or hiding anything. Just as a quick look up. (like most other programs do) You can see it in context compared to the other items in the view then.

There is a way. You can limit the count to the current selection of objects by a single button press: / . This is the shortcut for View ▶ Local View ▶ Toggle Local View . Entering and leaving local view will not unhide hidden objects.

As -L0Lock- was pointing out, you can get the polycount of the selected objects just by entering edit mode; however, this solution does not work if your selection contains curve objects.
