VSE: Automatic Frame Range

It would be nice to have an option to automatically adjust the frame range...

Unlike most video editors, Blender VSE doesn’t automatically adjust the frame range to fit the content in the timeline. You must manually run an operator or set it by hand. And it can be quite tedious and time consuming...

Automatically setting the frame range eliminates the need to manually calculate or adjust the timeline duration all the time during the editing process, saving time, especially in projects with many strips... It can also prevent mistakes, like including blank frames or cutting off content...

Pretty sure it will be great for beginners as well... New users may not know how to set frame ranges correctly. Doing that automatically makes the process intuitive, allowing focus on creative editing rather than technical settings... 🙂

I miss something like that so much.

I don't have a clear opinion on this yet but I've personally assigned a Quick Favorite to the "Set Framerange To Strips" operator and I find this solution better because apart from quickly setting the framerange to all strips by hitting A, Q and clicking the operator, I most often want to watch or render a short a subpart of the edit temporarily, so I can select one or several strips and hit the operator. Can also be assigned to a custom shortcut for even quicker access.

I will give you that this operator is a bit hidden (in View > Range) so I understand the request for a more beginner-friendly solution. I'm just not sure this one is the best. Maybe something like handles for the Start and End frames that can use snapping in the VSE timeline would be a more flexible one.
