Start and draw curves directly in place on viewport and other spline thingies...

Blender spline workflow is quite bad atm. Not only that you don't have special spline modifiers like extrude, loft (create geo by extruding a or multiple curve(s) over another curve) or boolean but even creating the splines itself is a pain in the ass. Please implement the following: SUGGEST:

  • let us start a spline in an orthogonal view wherever you click and set following points anywhere you click again. Clicking and dragging creates and drags out a bezier curve point, single click hard, linear point.
  • let us insert points into splines anywhere you click onto the spline, the subdivide thing is stupendously cumbersome. Click for insert, optionally drag to reposition it, hold Ctrl to constrain it on the spline without changing the shape.
  • expand spline edit mode into point, segment and spline mode, hitting segments is much easier that selecting the corresponding points. If you spline object contains multiple detached splines the edit mode spline would let you select whole sub-splines in contrast to the segment mode

as a long term 3dsmax user wanting to switch to blender, spline handling is a major weakpoint compared to 3dsmax.

Use Bezier utilities addon by srinivas, it is like pen tool in illustrator and is very handy.

* @mrajendra2150 * Thanks. It should be core functionality, but thanks, add-on handles very good. Now a few spline modifiers and I am happy.
