Twist brush for new groom tools.
I know by using geometry nodes, I can twist the new hair curves in many ways. When working with stylized hair for example, you want to twist the curves only in specific areas and on specific strands of hair. This is useful for poly strips as well.
In the example below a lot of the hair strands look ok, the strands at the bottom are totally wrong though, if we had a 'twist brush' I could twist the base of those strands and make them flow more appropriately.
I 'mocked' up an example of what I mean by twisting the strands using geometry nodes. The problem is the geometry nodes have twisted all the hair. There's no local control.
What I'm trying to suggest for blender is a 'twist' brush.
Place the brush radius anywhere over a hair curve (or individual selected hair curve) and under the radius of the brush, you can twist clockwise or counter clockwise. Wherever the brush would be placed over the curve is where it would spin the curve.
This twisting i'm talking about is similar to the old curves and how they can twist so gorgeously. It's a tedious and time consuming process though. You have to manually place EVERY single curve, then adjust every point's twist...it's really slow.
Here is an example of some hair using the old school method. You can see how I have the bases of the curves flowing out along with the shape of the head for example and twisting them only in places I need them to twist.
A twist brush with a radius would solve all of this.
This would be INCREDIBLY fast and powerful. I work in videogames and a lot of the time the hair is not poly strips but something more stylized. Having this brush would be a HUGE game changer for any of us who have to do hair.

Yes, this kid of tilt brush is really needed for making stylized hair. I'd also like to see a brush for curve radius to control the thickness of the hairs.
Maybe even a more generic "Attribute Paint" brush that would let you paint any attribute you pick: tilt, radius, color, custom attributes that would control the curliness or kinkiness of the hair?
Absolutely agree! we need it so hard.
