Option for "scale thickness" of grease pencil via armatures

I would like to be able to have the option to have bones scale the thickness of strokes. Currently, this can be achieved with drivers, but for accessibility and convenience, it would be best to be able to set which bones scale thickness or not.

This way, the user can have control over the armature deformations of grease pencil strokes.
