Add FFmpeg Video option to File Output node.
It would be be helpful if the File Output node could output FFmpeg Video files directly, rather than having to create image sequences and render each output to an animation independently using the sequencer.
As an example, I'm currently working on a brief (~250 frame) animation for technical visualization purposes that I want to render into 10+ separate animations using different AOV passes. I had anticipated simply setting the file output nodes to FFmpeg Video format, but then discovered that this is not possible, and I would have to go through the tedious process of importing each of the 10+ image sequences individually, and rendering them one by one.

Compositing works on a frame by frame basis. It is hard to add support for video file formats as it requires to rework in the render pipeline. Best short term solution is to script this.
They can definitely script it with simple commands in Powershell, bash or batch ops. ffmpeg to pick up and convert a watched folder, soon as the the sequence is added you can convert them to a single file with out having to set it up each time. doesnt take long, its all available in the ffmpeg and search the docs relevant terminal you are using on how the language is structured on how to do it for any one interested in it
