Grease Pencil : Select Drawing Layer via Dopesheet across Grease Pencil objects.
When I click on a layer of a different Grease Pencil object in the dopesheet, the first Grease Pencil object still remains selected and drawing creates a new layer in the first object. It would be more intuitive if the selection would change to the next object and that layer would become the drawing layer.

yeah that's really annoying. The thing is that maybe they have to redo how the GP dope sheet works. Still I can think of a way to do it with an operator, that will get you out of draw mode,select the object that the layer belonged to and enter draw mode for that.
* @okuma_10 * That sounds a bit complex and I am not going to try that. I will wait for blender team to rework the dopesheet. However, your comment helped me solve a similar problem so thank you so much.
* @maildileepnow * no it's totally easy to do. I can do in few hours. It's just that I'm stuck with other stuff that I have to take care of.
