Render Output improvements.
Hello,
It is really important to render exactly what you need and in the easiest, fastest way possible and Blenders current way of doing it is very limited. We have put together a mockup how we think this could be solved. Suggestions and feedback are more then welcomed!

PS - did submit this in Blender.today a while back, but this seems to be the right place.

Is it a File Output node on steroids?
From the mockup it seems the purpose is adapting the render output so it's usable in After Effects, is that correct? Are there other use cases that you imagine this would be used for?
The image you're linking to doesn't seem to work. I'm not sure if BlenderArtists.org attachments are easily viewable outside of that site. It might be better to host that image elsewhere.
Ok, I changed it. And how is it possible to add thumbnail picture for an entry? And can I edit it after submitting?
Unfortunately, I don't think it is possible to edit the thumbnail after submitting. Might have to add that to the TODO list for the site. :)
Very nice concept! I remember watching the DVD special features for one of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, and Gore Verbinski was saying that Davy Jones' (fully CGI character) skin was looking too transparent and weak. The technician he was talking to said that they could fix that because the transparency "was on a separate layer." I don't do it much myself just being a hobbyist so far, so I have no one coming to me and telling me to change things like that. But in a professional film rendering environment a director or some other supervisor is always going to be coming in and demanding changes, and re-rendering just won't be fast enough. Tons of different render layers are a necessity for that. OpenEXR is good, but it's also hugely demanding for hard drive space! Allowing multiple PNG renders of render layers would help out smaller productions who can't afford 300TB of hard drive space. So both Hollywood and small studios would benefit from this.
