Instead of maintaining lists there should be a repository. Accessible from the blender UI like addon managers in most modern IDEs.

Maybe Blender could integrate with Blender Market and Blendswap to have a resource browser that when you cache the list, you can one click install addons straight from their sources? Speaking of which, it'd be nice if blender would update that way.
This is a similar thing I want to get going. Having an integrated addons manager within Blender or something.

Perhaps Blender Community page needs a section for Useful Blender Related Links.
